Autobiography in 42 Chapters. What's Wrong with Now?
69At this point in the story it does not matter where Don Carlos and Dolores live. The only known fact is that they live in different cities, possibly in different countries.
Setting: Don Carlos is in his study, Dolores is in her bedroom. Both are shown interchangeably or side by side. The sequence of shots is to be determined later.
Don Carlos calls Dolores
- Lola?
- Yes… Carlos…?
- How are you, mi amor?
- Now? At 3 am?
- What’s wrong with now?
- Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Why are you screaming?!!! Oh, geez, I spilt my coffee… (muttering …)
- You told me you need to hear me scream.
- Now?
- What’s wrong with now?
- Do you always take everything so literally?
- No, actually I don’t. Something startled me… There is something in my bed…
- Something or someone?
- Is there a difference?
- Who are you with?
- I am asking myself the same question. Remember that day when you sent me flowers?
- What flowers? I never sent you flowers…
- You never sent me flowers? Who was that Mexican pimp in a ridiculous cheesy sombrero that showed at my doorstep with a bouquet of flowers then?
- What makes you think I have anything to do with pimps? Especially Mexican pimps?
- Well, maybe the fact that the card was from you tipped me off. It was YOUR handwriting.
- I have stopped writing long time ago, before you and I met. I type. But seriously, I have never sent anyone or anything to you. Oh, wait…, was it Halloween, perhaps?
- Yes, and he was asking for candies.
- Was he?
- Of course, not! Don’t be ridiculous! He brought me flowers and then… Since that day, something strange started to happen… sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and there is a man in my bed, young, gorgeous like a Greek God, sound asleep, alive, but I never can wake him up… However, when I wake up in the morning, he is never here. Not a trace with the exception of one thing…
- What? A business card?
- Sort of. No. A bug.
- A bug? Do you realize how you sound?
- I realize how I sound and that is why I don’t tell this story to anyone.
Butterfly on light drugs
- Is it the same man or?
- It is hard to tell… in the morning I have a feeling it was only a dream…
- Can you touch him now?
- Of course, I can touch him now. Now he is real enough.
- Then he is real. What did you do to him? Oh, don’t tell me, why I even asked that question! Where do you meet these people?
- I don’t meet them. I have a suspicion you send them through your Mexican “agent”.
- You are crazy!!! You know what? Real, not real, write your stories and you definitely can have a series on HBO.
- I don’t mind, the trick is to convince HBO. Why don't you?
- That is the reason for my call. Remember, you were working on a script…
- I would not call it a script…
- It does not matter; can you send it to me?
- Now?
- What is wrong with now?
- Besides that it is 3 a.m.? Almost nothing, but I feel dizzy, I am almost asleep, I took the pills…
- Are you on drugs? Again? What pills?
- Writing pills. What do you think? Sleeping pills, I won’t be able to function for at least twelve hours…
- You are impossible! Prima donna! Just send it, I will get back to you tomorrow, no, today… No, wait, have you ever taken his picture?
- Yes, I have all 42 of them.
- Oh…no, not again! Now I feel like screaming. Send me a least one of them, please.
- OK, I will and you have to find that Mexican.
- I swear I have nothing to do with Mexican pimps, drug dealers, or…your bad dreams.
- Too late now, I am falling asleep to have another nightma…. Oh, I forgot to tell you, the man has a gun.
- What?!!!!!
- And then he always shoots me…
- It is not funny.
- Who said I was laughing? Wait…
- Dolores?
Gunshot.
- Dolores? Dolores? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don Carlos and Dolores
- Autobiography in 42 Chapters. The Passion for the Forbidden Dance.
Some people are strange: degreed as an engineer, turned to Buddhism to find peace, studied psychology to dissect the mind, and studio trained in Tango to demonstrate her passion for the forbidden dance. - Narcissus and Echo. Never Together, Never Apart
A phantasmagorical detour in the story of Narcissus and Echo. A never ending story of love, life and the search for the meaning. Of...? You decide.

There is only one pimp I know that wore a sombrero. He wasn't Mexican, but his name is Don "Magic" Juan. Here is his info:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_%22Magic%22_Juan
Is this you Narcissus hub? Did Delores shoot herself or get shot because of it?
Ahhh..okay look forward to reading more..I am so slow sometimes in my reading..I get behind and then forget what I read..horrible condition..lol..
Well what ever direction this takes I know it will be great..

I'm intrigued about the gunshot and Mexican pimp. I wait for the next chapter.
Do you know how rare you are? A Buddhist Russian Tango Dancer who can write mysticism and conjure spells. Who can grace her page with sounds from the border and turn heads with her passion for words. Wait, while I listen to your song again.
What can I say?! I loved it and I loved the song too. I actually wasn't wondering what happened after the gunshot. I was thinking about what was happening "now"? - The gunshot and then the scream. Why wonder? I'll find out what happened later, in another "now". And what is wrong with now? Nothing, so I'll go check out the other hubs now and we'll see if I find out what happened to Dolores.
P.S. Thanks, by the way. I haven't been able to read much for some time. This came at the right time to get me back into the swing of things and it fit in perfectly. I've been reading nursery rhymes and short poetry and children's stories until now just to keep my mind active. I've got to say that I'm having fun and won't stop. I'll just add to it... Dear Svetlana.
I've read all of them and loved it! Especially the story of Narcissus and the butterfly. You must continue!
I think I read in one of your hubs that one should not say "thank you" when something is factual or truthful. I learn a lot from your hubs, by the way. That adds meaning and value to my life. Anyway, even if it's an opinion, it is factual to me. So, please don't thank me. We're past thank you's. You write great hubs! Now, hurry up and write the next one - I just started to read again and I'm eager to find out what happened to Dolores! ;)
Then I read it somewhere else but it doesn't matter, you know what I mean. ;)
My theory is that people are in fact predictable, but I'll elaborate on that another time...
Keep well, my friend. :)
Ha! It was you! And, here you made me think I was crazy for some time.
I remember everything of significance that I read. I may not remember it directly afterwards but it pops up again in the right context. ;)
I don't know about your "Thank you" theories but "Thank You" is my name. It seems to be playing an important role in my life lately:

Thank you for being a part of my "thank you". ;)
I hope it is a writing project. ;)
Good going and good luck!
